Busy Honeybees
Honeybees live together in a home called a hive. One hive can hold thousands of bees, and each bee has a job.
The queen bee lays the eggs. Worker bees are female. They collect nectar and pollen from flowers, clean the hive, and feed the young bees. Drones are male bees. Their job is to mate with a queen from another hive.
Bees turn nectar into honey. They store the honey in tiny wax cells that have six sides, like hexagons. When a bee visits a flower, pollen sticks to its fuzzy body. The bee carries the pollen to the next flower, which helps plants make seeds and fruit.
